New England direct reparations
and
resource sharing

(NEDRRS) Facebook group is aproject that intends to serve the New England area defined as: six states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Rebel Cause Inc has teamed up with NEDRRS to create a in-house pool fund through donations from our sponsors.

NEDDARS hopes to address conditions such as homelessness, food insecurity, housing instability, and other needs as they arise in our community. This would allow for an avenue that would provide direct aid and assistance to the community. Our organization is in a position to not only lead but to serve the New England community with compassion, care and support. With this in mind, we diligently connect members with grants, resources and community oriented crowdfunding.
Our target demographic focuses on marginalized individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, POC, homeless (or unstable housing), Disabled, and Undocumented immigrants throughout New England. We are open to any person, of any demographic in our group, but many of our members are members of marginalized groups and communities. We will prioritize the needs of these members, who tend to be especially vulnerable to financial instability.

What is your definition of reparations? How can you commit to this concept in this space? Are you able to donate to other members? *This is mandatory- failure to answer = automatic rejection*
The admin team would like to announce that we have some adjustments to the NEDRRS Direct Reparations Funding Pool! This will be the model we will implement until further notice, dated December 10,2020.

We believe that giving directly to the people who need help is imperative, now more than ever. BIPOC are especially in need of funding and support; direct reparations where people leverage their privileges' and financial power to alleviate the conditions that both the pandemic and the larger systems of oppression that affect us is transformative and healing. Direct giving saves lives.

*Note: We will only sponsor one post a month via this method. *

Adjustment: In order to be aligned with the mission of both this space and our partner, Rebel Cause Inc., Kera and I will be adjusting the disbursement rate of the In-House Grant Program in order to address, shift and transform the barriers that Black, Indigenous and People of Color face socioeconomically and financially.

Brackets:
If you are a BIPOC, and your post stalls for 1 week, the disbursement rate for the stalling ask will increase from 40% to 50%.

If you are a whyte person, and your post stalls for 1 week, the disbursement rate for the stalling ask will be 30%.

Here's how it will work:
  1. If you make a monetary request, and it is stalling for at least one week, the admin team will sponsor you from the fund.
  2. The NEDRRS Admin Team will sponsor a percentage of the ask or the remainder left according to the brackets listed above to close the gap.
  3. Please report funding and close the post if you are all set. If you can't close comments, please tag an admin or moderator.
  4. **The admin team can provide disbursements, in cases of emergency, such as medication requests and/or urgent trips to the hospital, to foster a "head start" on an ask and reduce the impact that the member is going through.**

We also want to give our gratitude and thanks to all of the donors who have sponsored other people in this group from our initial start in April of this year. Your work is seen and validated! Keep up the good work!

Note 2: If you have any questions about this policy change, please direct them to Shakera. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
